We have exciting opportunities at a public school serving students ages 2–15 with autism, developmental disabilities, and communication disorders. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive and effective academic environment tailored to each student’s unique needs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Developing and implementing lesson plans that cater to individual student needs
• Providing behavioral management
• Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on student progress
• Attending and participating in meetings

STATE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

To work as a Special Education Teacher in Massachusetts, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Special Education Degree: A Bachelor's of Science in Education with a focus on teaching students with special needs is recommended.
2. Required Tests and Endorsements: Passing several tests is necessary to obtain Special Education credentials.
3. Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks, including fingerprinting, are mandatory for student safety.
4. Academic Verification: Proof of completing an accredited educator preparation program is required.
