Job Description and Duties

California State Prison, Los Angeles County (LAC) is located in Lancaster, CA which is 45 miles north of Los Angeles, CA.

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Executive and the supervision of the Correction Health Services Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF), the Radiologic Technologist, CF instructs and prepares patients for radiologic examinations and takes x-rays for a variety of body structures.  The Radiologic Technologist maintains equipment and quarters and keeps records and files. The Radiologic Technologist, CF may supervise inmate-workers and the conduct of patients in treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current valid certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California Department of Public Health (formerly California State Department of Health Services).

And

Either I

Two years of experience, including training in radiologic techniques and methods, under an accredited medical radiologist. (Successful completion of the work required for a graduate nurse may be substituted for one year of this required experience and training.)

Or II

Successful completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, in collaboration with the American College of Radiology .

Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
