Job Description

Job Description

You are the dependable and compassionate Nurse Educator & Lead Agency RN who brings both clinical expertise and a nurturing presence to our team. With a heart for service, you support caregivers, clients, and the office team in delivering safe, thoughtful, and consistent care.

Your collaborative and detail-oriented approach strengthens our entire care model, which is grounded in a deep respect for each client’s unique needs and preferences. You create stability through your calm leadership and commitment to doing things the right way. From conducting assessments and trainings to reviewing documentation and coaching staff, your work enhances the overall quality of care our non-medical home health agency provides.

You’ll appreciate the clarity and direction built into this role. You are provided with a focused list of responsibilities each day, along with the systems and tools needed to carry them out successfully. One of your key responsibilities includes training new hires to become certified Home Health Aides—an essential part of ensuring our caregivers are well-prepared and confident in their roles. This structured approach allows you to focus on what matters most—delivering high-quality, compassionate care and empowering those around you to do the same.

This part-time role consists of two to three consistent shifts per week, each lasting 5 to 6 hours and beginning between 9:00 and 10:00 AM. One of the scheduled days must be Friday. While the weekly schedule will remain steady, we are flexible in working with you to determine the specific days that fit best for you.

At Home Care Assistance, we are committed to helping older adults live happier, healthier lives at home. Our care is distinguished by the quality of our training, the caliber of our caregivers, and the responsiveness of our team. Your leadership as Nurse Educator & Lead Agency RN strengthens every one of these areas and ensures that both our clients and caregivers feel seen, supported, and respected.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee care provided by home health aides to ensure compliance with AHCA regulations and high standards of client service.

  • Provide instruction and oversight for Home Health Aide training and testing, including training new hires to become certified.

  • Facilitate caregiver orientation sessions and conduct in-person trainings on advanced care skills.

  • Deliver proprietary in-house trainings, including the Balanced Care Method and Enhanced Dementia Training.

  • Identify clients who may benefit from the Cognitive Therapeutics Method and implement the program accordingly.

  • Conduct caregiver and client supervisory visits, offering support and feedback to promote continued improvement.

  • Review care plans and client documentation as requested by the Owner or Administrator.

  • Conduct client assessments to help create and maintain thoughtful, individualized care strategies.

  • Respond to and document client incidents or accidents with professionalism and timeliness.

  • Communicate with healthcare providers as needed to ensure well-coordinated care.

  • Assist with additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Owner or Administrator.

Note: Our agency does not administer medications—we provide medication reminders and assist with the self-administration of medication.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the State of Florida
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in home care, geriatrics, or care coordination
  • Comfortable leading small groups and teaching both new and experienced caregivers
  • Familiarity with dementia care and cognitive support strategies preferred
  • Clear communicator who values consistency, accountability, and a team-first mindset
  • Organized, reliable, and flexible in supporting agency priorities as needs evolve
