Materials Manager | Montague, MI

Salary Range: $77,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for material planning, procurement, inventory control, and warehousing.
• Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure material availability while minimizing carrying costs.
• Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management.
• Collaborate with production planning and operations to ensure timely material flow and support production schedules.
• Implement and maintain robust inventory accuracy processes, including cycle counting and discrepancy resolution.
• Analyze material usage, forecast demand, and identify potential supply risks or opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in materials management processes and systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
• Expertise in inventory control, optimization strategies, and demand forecasting.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with a proven ability to manage teams and supplier relationships.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and lean methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Bonus Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Experience with advanced planning and scheduling (APS) software.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for supply chain optimization.
