General Housekeeping Duties Helps to maintain a clean, safe and neat environment for the residents in the nursing home. Performs routine housekeeping duties (cleaning/washing of bathrooms and toilets, cleaning of floor, furniture and fixtures and bed making). Ensures the safety, comfort and well-being of the residents and reports problems to the registered nurse. Attends to complaints of the residents. Helps in the cleaning of utensils and the dining hall. Ensures that all cleaning equipment/materials are maintained in a safe, clean and efficient working condition. Ensures that the Administrator is aware of the need for replacement materials and equipment for the satisfactory performance of the duties. Collects and laundering of linens, garments and washables. Sluicing of linen where necessary. Sorting and folding residents clothing ready for repair and putting away. Ensures that all patients have neat, clean and comfortable bed through effective bed making. Performs any other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.
