Bookkeeper Position

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Mashpee, Massachusetts. This role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to support a busy non-profit organization by managing essential financial operations. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal departments and external accountants.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are up to date.
• Manage and execute weekly check runs and maintain timely payments.
• Generate monthly trial balances and comprehensive financial reports.
• Oversee grant application processes, including writing and tracking submissions.
• Collaborate with various departments and external accountants to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable and payroll processing as needed.
• Utilize Abila MIP accounting software to manage financial tasks efficiently.
• Maintain and organize financial records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support organizational goals.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a non-profit setting.
• Proficiency in Abila MIP accounting software is highly preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Expertise in performing accurate bank reconciliations.
• Ability to create and manage grant applications effectively.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to work with a diverse team.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
